Dr Anila Bali with her new book volumes - now available

Anila Bali, born in India, has lived in Northern Ireland for the last 30 years. She has an M.A. and PhD in history; has been a lecturer in Panjab University, Chandigarh, India; and in the University of Ulster, Coleraine. She has also worked as a financial advisor, first for Allied Dunbar and then as an Independent; later as a service advisor for The Northern Bank. Being fond of cooking and entertaining led her to write her own recipes and to teach Indian cooking to the Irish. Her interest in Indian culture inspired her to write articles in newspapers (Belfast Telegraph) and magazines (Northern Woman and Northern Ireland Elegant). She has given talks to various associations in Northern Ireland; aspects ranging from ‘The economic and political status of India as the leading country of the third world’ and ‘Arranged marriages in the east’ to Indian weddings, festivals, jewellery and customs. She continues to give these talks when she can. Her second book ‘Moms cooking and More vol 2 set menus Indian Style’ and a third book on spices and herbs is currently in production to be out this autumn.
